Whee! Me is obviously not Chiany.

Today is Indonesian Independence Day. Today is... Chian Impersonation Day? Ergo CID.

We is in com lab now, slowly being driven crazy by Ada's terrible taste in music. I should be doing Sukarno essay.

Ick. What can I write about his contributions?

1. He united Indonesians, especially the peasants.
Effect: Policy of non-cooperation with the Dutch adopted by the masses; public listened to him (useful with post-independence mobs); eventually, Suharto was overthrown by public as well in favour of Megawati.
2. He formed a coalition.
Effect: Used by Ho Chi Minh as well - brought nationalists together; eventually, army and PKI overthrew Sukarno, but at the moment useful against the Dutch.
3. He was not averse to using underhand methods.
Effect: He was not limited by the radical or moderate approach - Sukarno's policies were fluid (i.e. he collaborated with the Dutch and the Japanese).

I'm very pleased. I have done some very non-Chiany things. That do not involve frightening old aunties.

I have successfully used MS Paint to create me a wallpaper! (Squee at the JackDav-ness. He is soooooo BRITISHISH in The Talented Mr. Ripley... and all the UST with Matt Damon! Curse you, Jerry Bruckheimer, for massacring the Navyboys and their commodorial commodore!)

But I did all the pixels wrong. Shall have to go home and look at the original images again to resize. So far I have reduced it from 1212x900-something to 1024x768. But the home com is bigger screen so when I get home I'll put Sukarno on hold and resize it there.

Pride of Baghdad rocks. Okay, the ending is an anticlimax. And I feel maybe it's a bit overrated, like Watchmen or V for Vendetta. Asra will kill me for hating the V ending.
